Job purpose:
We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in full lifecycle development programs to join AALTO at our Farnborough site. Here you would be responsible for undertaking development & verification activities for the Zephyr HAPS airborne software.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, verify and validate complex hardware/software systems.
- Review and validate item requirements of high- and low-level software requirements to ensure compliance to DO-178C.
- Develop and review software documentation, including requirements, design, verification, and certification artifacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, systems engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Participate in technical reviews, audits, and safety assessments to ensure the delivery of high-integrity solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the full software development lifecycle within an aerospace or a similar highly regulated industry (requirements, design, implementation, testing, verification, and maintenance).
- Experience of multi-core processors and software development environments
- Knowledge of and experience working with DO-178 or similar safety critical standards, with practical experience in certified programs.
- Proficiency in programming using C/C++ languages and knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience with safety-critical software verification and validation processes and tools.
- Familiarity with software configuration management and version control tools.
Other Useful skills and experience:
- Experience with embedded systems development including understanding of ARP4754 (System Development) and ARP4761 (Safety Assessment) standards.
- Experience with software static analysis and automated testing tools such as MISRA & LDRA/Vectorcast/Rapita
